IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, is providing a $70 million loan to China Everbright International to build three water plants in China. Everbright International will use IFC’s financing to expand environmental water business by building a waste-water treatment plant, a pioneering waste-water reuse plant and a ground water plant.

Greenpeace Accuses Chinese Coal Company of Depleting Groundwater, Polluting Water Sources
International environmental group Greenpeace has accused China’s largest state-owned coal company, Shenhua Group, of depleting groundwater and discharging toxic wastewater that has polluted water sources in the Inner Mongolia region.
